As a home cook, I completely understand people are busy on a daily basis so my recipes focus on easy, short on time, gluten free, healthy & nutritious.
More About Me
My name is Alex Rios and I am a Cuban American self-taught home cook. Born and raised in Miami, FL, I was surrounded by diverse cultures and delicious food. When the pandemic started and lockdowns were in full effect, I had the unforeseen opportunity to tap into my true hidden passion, cooking!
Before starting my cooking journey, my professional career took a detour. I was well on my way to becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with already 7 years of experience in the public accounting space….


I started dabbling in cooking more meals at home during the pandemic because of all the closures. While still working full time, cooking for necessity quickly grew into a love for making tasty meals for my wife & I to enjoy everyday.
Being the proud husband of an already successful beauty content creator, Deborah Ruiz, she insisted I start filming & posting my recipes on Instagram & TikTok. Suddenly in a few months, I started gaining a following. Fast forward to today and I have a community of over 500k+ followers on all platforms.

Gluten Free Journey
My conversion to becoming fully gluten free didn’t begin, coincidentally, until a year before starting to post my recipes on social media. After my wife suddenly began to develop chronic migraines and I started suffering from eczema, we began doing our own research (as should you) on why our bodies were reacting like this.
Being fairly healthy people ourselves, we discovered through holistic medical care that we both had a gluten sensitivity. At this point, I had already been cooking for 3 years, so I took matters into my own hands into becoming a gluten free chef and we haven’t looked back. Migraine & eczema free going on almost 2 years now.


The stigma behind eating strictly gluten free is understandable. I was on the other side at one point too.
→ “Gluten free food is flavorless”
→ “Gluten free food is hard to work with and expensive”
→ “I will never be able to eat any of my favorite food”
With dedication and trial & error, I have found that most of your favorite foods can be made gluten free in a way where you won’t even notice. This is why all my recipes are gluten free but are not promoted as strictly gluten free.
I want my food to be enjoyed by everyone because it CAN BE. I try my best to use 1 for 1 substitutions for my non gluten free friends as well. If you have the opportunity or yearning to eat gluten free, you’ve come to the right place.
Health Journey
Once I learned and mastered gluten free cooking, I naturally began eating healthier. I understand that eating healthier has many different definitions to different people. For me, it was cutting back on processed sugars, limiting carb overload & eliminating over processed vegetable oils. Eating a clean diet doesn’t have to be boring and you’ll find everything you need in this food blog.
All your favorite restaurant or takeout dishes, made at home without all the unnecessary fillers & harmful ingredients they use. You will see on my blog, lots of air fryer recipes, NO deep frying & limited use of processed sugars whenever possible. I’ve never felt better physically & I still get to eat all my favorite foods. Hopefully you stick around and find out that good food can also be good for you!
